"Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we will ever do."
- Brene Brown

I have worked many aspects of my profession ranging from various community mental health settings and addiction facilities to high-security clearance facilities, hospitals, home health care and private practice. I’ve lived in some of the most amazing places in the United States, Europe and South America all of which have provided me a well-rounded, open-minded and multi-cultural approach to how I do therapy. Man, sometimes I feel I’ve lived three lifetimes in one!
I myself am no stranger to struggles. Years ago I was surviving a marriage to an Overt Narcissist. My self-worth completely shattered from what was a once strong, emotionally healthy, motivated and vibrant young woman. Finding my strength to break free was only the beginning of my healing journey. A moment that provided me the greatest opportunity…
The chance to choose.
My choice: move away from the suffocation and move towards empowerment and change.
I've had many people ask, "Didn't you see what was happening? Why did it take you so long?", and my favorite Meme...“You’re a Therapist, just read your notes bro.” Such common, easy judgments by so many. Do any of us really see the disastrous road we're on until our foot is stuck in muck already? Many of us can say we've been there whatever the road: addiction, parental abandonment, divorce, trauma, abuse, infertility, infidelity, depression, anxiety and so much more. I want to help you own your muck and give you the tools to choose empowerment over suffocation like I did.
Now, I’m excitedly married to my high-school sweetheart (pretty amazing story I hope to write about some day) and mom to two rambunctiously loving toddler pups. Also, I am now the stepmom to an attitude ridden adolescent kitty, and three pretty cool kids, depending on the day, LOL (Come "Smack Talk" with me).
Animals and the beach always have my heart most at peace and nature rejuvenates my soul. I believe in healthy living; food is medicine and physical movement can heal the mind. Earths natural resources offer us a lot of healing for the mind, body and soul and these are all things I not only incorporate in my practice but always try best to live by.
In my spare time I’m either cozied up with a good book; voyeuristically indulging in a little reality TV (it's research, promise!! ;)), or enjoying some fun physical activity as an avid sports enthusiast. Spike ball?... game on! Professionally, I always enjoy writing, teaching, hosting workshops and seminar speaking.
I truly adore meeting new people and look forward to meeting you and getting the chance to hear your story!
Willingness to be vulnerable is scary, but worth it! I know. It has been for me too.
